We sang this hymn in church last week. Hubby was guest pastoring at my sister’s church in Hamilton. It has been a long time since I last sung this hymn so it was really nice to do so. Ergo I thought I would share it with you as well.

This song was written by Carol Owens. She composed hymns along with her husband James. They are best known for their children’s album Ants’hillvania. They worked with various artists during their life time.
Lyrics
1. God forgave my sin in Jesus’ name,
I’ve been born again in Jesus’ name,
and in Jesus’ name I come to you
to share his love as he told me to.
He said:
‘Freely, freely you have received;
freely, freely give.
Go in my name and because you believe,
others will know that I live.’
2. All power is given in Jesus’ name,
in earth and heaven in Jesus’ name,
and in Jesus’ name I come to you
to share his power as he told me to.
He said:
‘Freely, freely you have received;
freely, freely give.
Go in my name and because you believe,
others will know that I live.’

the only thing I’m going to say is that when I was a teenager in the mid to late 1980s, my mother made me hear this tune. My mother did not know, nor did she care, that the only thing this song made me do is repent bitterly for sins i know to this day that I didn’t even commit!
so it made you see your guilt before a holy God?
