IF
If has so many possibilities.
It holds within it’s hands.
A life lived, dreams potential
If holds a world.
If only I could have
If only my life would have been what I dreamed
If can lead to anger, frustration, disappointment
If leads to a road of destructive wonderings.
Leading to discontentment of heart.
If only I would have
Acted, opened my mouth, said things differently
Bought that meal, loaned that book,
Open my house to that hurting one.
If leads to correction and reproof
Leading to potential change.
If I can achieve my dreams
If I can fulfill my plans
My life will have meaning
I will have succeeded.
If leads to striving and planning and action.
If can lead to “I did it my way” mentality.
If I remember
If I recall it well.
If I see the cost paid for my freedom
I would live my life in sertitude
Working to meet the gift so given.
Recollecting what was spent.
If can be so much
If leads down so many paths
IF God Loved the world in a certain way
If God calls you his own
If God remembers his people
If God covenants to not forsake his people
