I am writing this just before I go to bed. Tiredness rules this body today. Join us over at Miss Kate’s won’t you?

Hours run 230-midnight
A hard-working middle aged husband.
The work is hard, not enough men
But the pay helps a household run.
One does not look a gift horse in the mouth.
A wife in support
Stays up late
Minding the house
As a good man works
But tiredness reigns.
Some nights, sleep overcomes
A comfy chair, a quiet playing show
Snores soon abound.
But sleep in a chair
Is not the same as
Sleep in a bed.
So the lack sometimes shows
Tiredness rules.
Accidents happen.
Tempers flair.
And mom learns
And hubby learns
that sometimes… bed calls loudly.
and it’s okay if
The wife
Does not
Stay up
for
a hard-working
man.

Love your post! I can identify. Sometimes tiredness really does reign and bed calls loudly. Blessings to you! I’m your neighbor at #FiveMinuteFriday.
Thank you Gayl, I’m going to have to pop in on you too! 🙂 tiredness can be a bear some days.
Beautiful.
I haven’t slept in a bed for a while; the tumours won’t allow it. It’s a chair for me, now.
aw Andrew…that rather sucks doesn’t it? If the chair is comfy it certainly helps though doesn’t it?
Love you! I know how hard it can be, sometimes God provides in ways we cannot understand. This is where trust comes in. Big hugs!
Thanks Carol, he does indeed! 🙂
This is wonderful; made me tear up a little. Your love and commitment shine through.
aw, thank you. I love my man, but sometimes I just can’t stay up. 🙂
I envy my husband! He can sleep comfortably and soundly ANYWHERE! I on the other hand cannot so I totally can relate to poor sleep in a chair! Your care for your family shines through in your writing Annette!
thank you Cindy. I try, I often feel like I fail though.
What true statements are here. You are a wonderful wife to a dear man. And you are both excellent examples to your lad.
Oh, I don’t know. I feel like a failure when bed calls too loudly….
