Once upon a time in a far off place
There lived a man in his tiny little space
He built up a business and he made himself a home
And decided that he would never more roam.
And…
I completely lost it. I had it all worked out in my head and started typing and it disappeared on me.
This week’s word from Miss Kate is Place. And I had this poem all set up in my head and it’s annoying how sometimes it all just disappears.

Oh give me a home
A place to call my own
A spot that is a place for me.
I want to stay
Find a place to play.
It’s where I want to be.
One man and two cats
And a boy as busy as that.
A student as well,
I know it’a real swell
And it rounds out our small family.
Our family
Hop Hop bunnies go
Stomp and squeal when things don’t go well.
And possums come and play
Wanting a place to stay.
And find a live trap waiting there.
Waiting there.
Home home is my place
Mice and cats nibble my lace
And guinea pigs squeal
Calling out for their meal.
And bring smiles quick to my face
To my face.

I hate it when you have something planned and it just disappears, it’s happened to me many times. Hopefully the poem you came up with was even better than the one you originally planned.
I don’t know if it was better, it was fun to write though. 🙂
The original inspiration may have flown, Annette, but you done GREAT!
Oh, thank you Andrew. 🙂 It was fun to write.
It is frustrating as a writer to have the words and they scatter before you can capture them.
I love the words you harnessed today.
It is frustrating Tammy, so I’m glad that other words came. 🙂
I’m picturing your words with wings, fluttering away in the sky! Loved your new poem, especially the possums come to play. It reminds me of the ferrets that like to visit my hens!
Ah… BUT I DON’T WANT possums to come to play… I’ve two I’m looking at “rehoming”. 🙂 want them?
Whether or not it was your original, it made me smile to picture your little family all cozy and happy in your “place.”
it was fun to write (once I got past the angst of the other disappearing!) 🙂
