I am currently going through a small book entitled “Learning about the Old Testament”. Allan Harman is walking me through different important parts of the Old Testament, helping me see the importance of different sections.
I recently finished reading about the Covenant of Creation. I was reminded of the promise God made.

A promise made
Eons ago
God to man
Once a happy, easy relationship
Now one fraught with trouble.
Listen as she did.
Eve tempted.
Looked and listened.
Ate and offered.
Adam accepted.
The shame, the need
Clothing offered.
Care by God,
Sacrifice made.
An animal given.
Banishment,
Toil, trouble,
Babies will be hard.
But God will help.
His love to show
but stop. Listen.
A promise made
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.
Head bruised.
Pain on heel.
One more risky than the other.
This promise by God.
To a people in
Relationship fractured.
Care continues.
Promise covers
The Future.
Believe it.

Annette, this is BEAUTIFUL!
I try to write poetry, but you are a master of the art.
Wow, I don’t think I would even try to write a poem in five minutes, but here is one full of truth!
You have packed a lot into this poem! Great job Annette!
Such a smooth, concise overview of the actions that caused sin to enter the world and cause the need for a covenant from God. Lovely poem.
thank you Lori. I’m glad you caught what I was going for.
