So my lad and I are going through an apologetics program called Unbreakable Faith. Videos along with two books make up the lesson. The lad and I are talking a fair bit. He’s asking hard questions that honestly I don’t always know the answer to. Makes me wish his quick thinking Dad was home in the evenings. Anyways, why am I telling you this?
Well you see, it takes talent to create these programs. Talent to put together words in a good order that creates questions in a lad’s mind. Questions that help him to better understand faith, God’s word, and how others think.
I am often amazed at the work that content creators do. Not the ones that just create busy work, but the ones that make product that cause people to think through issues, gain ideas, strengthen skills and so forth. Just as I am often surprised and delighted at the skill shown by individuals who dance, sing, draw, run a business, or have mad math skills. It’s so delightful to see abilities being used well.
Often I find myself wishing I had that talent and wondering if perhaps I might be understating my own ability. Fear stops me from using this potential talent. But then again I might be fooling myself and not have this talent at all! 🙂 Either way, I remain amazed at the talent of creative people able to put together excellent materials.

Join us at Miss Kate’s won’t you? See what the word talent inspires from others. Perhaps let others know your thoughts too? Write a post, and then go on to encourage the person who linked up before you.

‘Tis fear that stops potential
and leads to the sad loss
of what should be reverential
thanks for the grim high cost
paid for us at Calvary,
the blood was shed to set us free
from the shackles of fear’s slavery,
from sadly obtuse misery
that blinds us to the talents
that were gifted us at birth,
and robs from hearts the balance
that lets us see the worth
of the contribution we can make,
the feast in which we could partake.
thank you for the encouragement Andrew. 🙂
I’m sure you are more talented than you think. You can do anything through Christ that strengthens you. X

Yes indeed!
Fear blinds many of us to our talents. I’m right there with you. Here’s to discovering (and uncovering) talents within:)
I know, it’s hard to see new talents sometimes when fear is a problem. How to look beyond it I’m still learning.
