Miss Kate has offered up this weeks word prompt. Permission. As soon as I saw the word the statement “we have permission” popped into my brain. Following this pop didn’t come as easily as I thought though, probably cause I’m really tired as I write this. So … not my finest work in the five minutes alloted, but the sentiment carries through I think? But that’s for you to tell me! 🙂

We Have Permission
We have permission
And sometimes we forget.
For it is easily missed.
We have the authorization
To lean upon the Lord,
You’ll find it written in his word.
Approval is not needed
We don’t have to ask
Just get up and act.
The avoidance of sin.
Assistance freely given
But will you accept?
What so freely is given
Grace upon grace
Forgiveness is in place.
So often we think
To make up for wrongs
When “I’m sorry” is what’s needed.
Turning our path
From evil to light.
Is not done under our own might.
Don’t take advantage,
As we need to work it out
Our faith before the Lord.
He gives us encouragement
Declaring what we are
Be Holy as I am holy.
We have permission
To be set apart
for we follow, after God’s own heart.

Scriptural Insight
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
8 It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment[c] to your bones.

I like your poem! I think we do need to remember the blessings and permissions we have through Christ and choose to take hold of them.
Oh, thank you Lesley. I’m glad it wasn’t a dump of words
Such a beautiful reminder that with his word does give us permission. Thanks so much for sharing! Deirdre FMF #1
you are most welcome. We need to focus on what we have in him.
Strong reminder at a time when I needed it – thank you.
I’m thankful God used me in your life. 🙂
Lovely. And an important message. FMF#23
thank you Susan
Beautiful words. How gracious of God to give us full permission to lean on him and to bring all our sorrows and fears to him – and then to give us authority as well. We are very blessed and we don’t give ourselves permission to enjoy those blessings, do we?
I’m at FMF#25 this week.
too often we don’t Kym. We should do better with the one we love more than all others.
Yes, He asks us, He implores us,
lean in here, into My arms
when you’re chucked beneath the bus,
and I will keep you safe from harms!
But do we listen? Heavens no,
we blunder on in silly pride,
thinking everything’s a ‘go’
when we really need to hide
and take His gently offered aid
that will soothe the ruffled soul,
accept the price that He has paid
to restore us, make us whole!
Truly it’s a wild conundrum
that He loves what is so dumb!
thank you for this poem Andrew. I love how they just roll off your fingertips. 🙂
This was amazing thank you
Thank you
