It’s five minute Friday time (Well, actually it’s Saturday evening) but hey…. let’s not quibble on the details today eh? Miss Kate has given us the word prompt of work. I think about my job and how we encourage each other to do a good job or to have a good attitude toward our jobs. This active encouragement spills out into other areas of life including faith. Work It seeks to showcase that encouraging factor.

Poem: Work It
Work it baby, work it
I heard at my job this week
A gal with an encouragers heart
Smiling as I moved to the music
While I shifted ice cream from
A skid to a cart.
As she spoke she shimmied
herself across the floor.
Laughter ensued. 🙂
“I hope they work it out”
the statement I heard
more than once this week
as my lad books medical
appointments, updating me
along the way. The progress
seems mind-numblingly slow as
appointments seem so far away, and
the urgency in getting him help
seems to be ignored.
Work it out, in fear and
trembling, recognizing
always that my faith is weak and
that without God’s constant
invention my hold on the truth
would be less tenuous than it is.
Spending time with God
in his word and thinking more
on approaching his word with an
attitude of prayer.

God speaks to us
Romans 15:5
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.
Philippians 2:12-13
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

Great poem. Praying with you for help for your son. Great to meet on FMF.
Blessings
Janis
Thank you Janis. 🙂
Yeah, it’s maybe gonna work,
or else maybe it ain’t.
Madame Fortune is a jerk
when she’s not a saint.
Maybe good will come to pass,
or maybe it’s snafu,
but as the donkey eats the grass,
a lot of it’s on you,
’cause Lady Luck does not exist,
she’s chimera of statistics,
and so we just have to resist
the vapourings of Vegas mystics
and approach this life as test,
giving God our very best.
it’s all we can really do isn’t it?
It sounds as though you work in a fun place.
It must be very frustrating to have to wait so long to get your lad the health care he needs. Just said a little prayer for him.
It is frustrating Sandra, but somehow God will see us through
Praying the Lord gives you wisdom and grace as you journey with your son in his medical journey. We have been walking this journey for the past fourteen months with our son, and through all the ups and downs, God has been faithful. Prayerfully, Lisa.
it’s a bit of a hard road sometimes isn’t it? thank you for your prayers.
