Thick panes
Inches think
Aquarium glass showcasing the life
Protection within
Protection without
Glossy sides
Pounding waves
Undulating motion
Fish swaying
Darting
Moving with surpassing grace
Though tangled beds
of kelp
Food for human and fish alike
Protection within
Protection without
Bright colours flash
Catch the eye
I’m here it seems this fish would cry
and hiding
Shooting into
Protection within
as with out a dark shadow looms
Gleaming eye looking
noticing that
flash of colour
that sudden movement
Attention!
Fear covers the ocean depths
Reminding that
Even though the glass is thick
The creatures within know
Protection within
Protection without
HIDE
Be seen, and yet
Don’t be.
So easy to forget
Life contained is still life.
