A Day Out

Today a busy day

Shopping with extended family in the morning.

Rabbit deliveries and Playing at the london’s Children’s museum in the afternoon. We played, we laughed, we hid, we crawled, we rolled.

Rabbit delivery went well.. sold a harlequin doe.
Rabbit “medical” went well. A young flemmish buck stomped hard and broke a foot. He’ll recover just fine, but just needs to have limited room to just settle and heal. Good to help out a rescue, good to offer advice, good to teach a boy what a broken bone feels like.
Rabbit hay run done. Good also to help a young owner stuck between a rock and a hard place to keep her rabbit longer. Unexpected bills sometimes play havoc with people.

We got frustrated with traffic and snafus in life.

We got food, we felt better.

We enjoyed each other, we talked, we got tired, and we went home.

Suncatchers and the Nutcracker

First off…how to make suncatchers/borax crystal things. I want to do this with Justin. 🙂 Found that blog through the homeschool carnival.

Carnival of Homeschooling

anyways, today we went to see the Nutcracker. I’ve never been to a ballet before and I found this just fun to watch. Wow… never expected ballet dancers to sound so loud. 🙂 I enjoyed watching the students put on this performance. They didn’t do it perfectly but they did it good enough for me. 🙂 Justin had brought his paper and pencil as he’s apt to do when going to new things he’s not sure he’ll like. He put them away and watched. he asked questions and was curious. he thought it quite interesting and fun. It was put on by the Dance Steps Studio of London. Jim attended with us.

Afterwards we dropped off some bunnies, then went to the mall as we were supposed to meet someone there. Then went to Mcd’s for lunch where we unexpectedly met up with a couple of homeschool moms and their children. Justin had fun playing with them. We had wanted to dine at the Mandarin but they are on holiday pricing now so they’ve jacked their prices up. I dislike that practice, but what can one do? Simply refuse to eat there.

Then we went to Costco to pick up items for our open house on the weekend.

Upon return home we made a gingerbread house and that for the most part summed up our day.

Door’s Open London

As a family we took in four of the sites to doors open London.

We went to the agricultural center, the train club, the HMCS Provost and the Secrets of Radar Museum.

It was good. We ALL learned lots. Justin had fun.

He had to answer three questions at each site.
1. What you remember,
2. what you learned,
3. what was the best.

In order
Agriculture center
– plants they were telling us about.
– plants can get diseases
– best thing was making smoke (dry ice, detergent and hot water).

Train Club
– (couldn’t remember anything) 🙂 —it was ALL trains so it’s not like you could pick anything out to really recall
– It was SO BIG!!!!
– “I wanted to see the whole thing”

HMCS Provost
– me and daddy were running around
– I could ring a bell REALLY loud
– Running around upstairs

Secrets of Radar
– Matching planes
– names of all the equipment
– Mommy telling me the names of all the equipment.
