Today I was talking with my lad about showing an exuberant love for the Lord. It’s so easy to not do this right? To be concerned about what others will think of you, of looking foolish in your own eyes, or whatever. He was busy nodding along and agreeing with me. It’s hard to just talk about God and the things of God sometimes. It shouldn’t be like that, but too often it is.
Anyways, it got me to thinking, how can I show my love for the Lord?

Thirteen Ways
Words come slowly
Thinking their way
Pondering the words
Written so long ago
Devotions.
Look it’s a frog, no, a wee toad
See how the browns help him hide?
God, you did an excellent job
Helping him hide and be safe.
Praise.
Did you notice it
up in the sky?
Rain! After weeks of dry.
Just in time, before the corn dies.
Providence.
Screech, zoom
Heart racing terror
Narrowly missed collision
Fear, thankfulness, relief.
Salvation.
A call, an email,
A text perhaps.
Is bunny number 3 available?
Sold, groceries provided.
Perfect timing.
A Dropped plate caught
A phone call received
A spilled cup averted
A package delivered.
God moments.
Minister, pastor, reverend
Good message delivered.
A word from God
Straight to the heart.
Teaching.
Music, praise
Instruments, hymns
Acapella, dance
bringing the heart
Worship.
Conviction, Teaching,
New awareness
Sin seen
Heart sorrowful.
Spirit moves.
Talking, laughing
Writing, explaining
Words used,
This is What God did today.
Enthusiasm
Stocking shelves,
Making a display,
Need some milk? Some bread perhaps?
Food rotation. Oh cat food too!
Volunteering.
Chased by littles, giggles sound
Teaching signs to music,
Being Present, helping,
Jollying along.
Children’s programs.
Each is different
Each the same
Words, movement,
Action, silence, wonderment felt.
God is loved.
